How does one decide to follow a different path? Accident? Horrible event? Moment of Truth? or what? The list goes on and on. Someone once remarked to me that if you want to change yourself that means you don't appreciate yourself. Damn right! How can you appreciate yourself if you have self-destructing habits?

I was reading your post with dictionary, but if I good understand, you thought about friends.
For example: in the internet Im very lonely. But on "real" world I have a friend, who I love.
I think like you- for friends we want to be a better people, and our friends want it for us.
But to change for one, who want it? Or those, who want it? No.
It's better to be alone.

Interesting post. Much of what you say I have experienced, and I agree very strongly a change of friends is probably a neccessity. It can be a bit lonely to change your life, my advice is to seek out support groups or like minded folks. The internet makes it easy.
